Modesty: In a standard massage, the client is properly draped at all times. As each part of the body is worked, it is uncovered in an appropriate manner. Genitals and breasts will remain covered during the entire massage. Some people feel more comfortable wearing their undergarments during the massage. Feel free to ask questions and let the therapist know what you are comfortable with.

Talking: Talking during a massage is optional. Always feel free to give the therapist feedback if something they are doing is causing discomfort.

Oils: Oils and lotions are usually used during a massage. If you have an allergy or aversion to certain smells or oils, talk to the therapist about it. It may be appropriate for you to bring in an oil or lotion that workswell for you. Our therapists typically use non-fragrant and hypoallergenic oils.

Pain: Whether you feel pain or not during a massage depends on many factors. Your physical condition, reasons for massage, pain tolerance and therapist techniques. Be sure to communicate with the therapist about the depth of pressure you are comfortable with. You do not want your massage to be too light or too deep. It is very common for someone to be sore the next day after a moderately deep massage. The soreness is normally compared to what you would feel after a good workout.

Exercise: If you are receiving a massage specifically designed for athletes prior to an event, it is usually advised to schedule your workout or strenuous activities prior to your massage.

Hair and/or makeup: Facial and head massage is very relaxing and therapeutic, however, if you have an appointment after your massage, you should let the therapist know. They may be able to modify their massage to accommodate you, or you may choose to skip this area all together.

Clothing: It is nice to be able to change into something more comfortable than your work clothes when you are done with your massage session. Sweats suits or loose fitting clothing are a great option and will also prevent
you from getting oils on your nice clothes.

Harassment free environment: The LAC will not tolerate any type of harassment or advances of any kind, either from the therapist, or from the client. The LAC has the right to refuse service for any reason and we suggest that any areas of concern be immediately reported to management.

Discuss financial matters before the session to avoid any misunderstandings.

Payment: Payment is due immediately before or after the session. See the front desk for payment options. We recommend paying before your session so you don't have to think of financial matters after you are so relaxed.

Tipping: Tipping is customary in certain situations, and not in others. It is common practice to tip the therapist in places like health clubs, spas and resorts. It may not be necessary at places like doctors offices.

24 hour cancellation policy: If you cannot make your appointment, please let the therapist know within 24 hours of the appointment as a courtesy to the therapist and to others.

50% no show fee: Members who book an appointment and fail to show up, without calling and canceling within 24 hours, will be billed for half the price of the massage.

Insurance coverage: Check with your insurance company to see if they cover massage. This varies from company to company and state to state. All insurance claims must be paid prior to service.

Discounts or Gift Certificates: Any coupon or gift certificate needs to be given to the therapist prior to the session. Gift certificates have an expiration date of 12 months from the date of purchase.
